Bed Bug Extermination Services
Bed bugs were once believed to be a myth, something out of a nursery rhyme. However, with international travel continuing to rise and the 1972 ban of DDT, bed bugs have become an increasingly common problem in major cities. Even nice hotels are not immune to infestations. Bed bugs are mainly active at night because they dislike bright light. They have tiny, flat oval bodies that make them difficult to locate.
Itchy or bruised skin upon waking up is a common sign of a bed bug problem. While they are called bed bugs, they can be found in many places, including clutter, baseboards, carpeting, sofas, and other furniture. The good news is that bed bug problems are entirely controllable with professional treatment. - Bed bug bites can cause red welts.
- Bed bugs can feed on any part of your body for up to 15 minutes.
- Bed bugs can hitch a ride into your home on your suitcase.

Identifying Bed Bugs: What You Need to Know
Bed bugs are often introduced into homes through old furniture, beds, visitors, or luggage from recent travel. It’s a common misconception that bed bug infestations are caused by uncleanliness; however, the presence of warm-bodied hosts and an abundance of cracks for hiding are all that is necessary for bed bugs to thrive. Here are some telltale signs that you may have a bed bug infestation:
- You see tiny reddish-brown bugs along the seams and crevices of your mattress
- Small blood stains on your mattress
- Waking up with bruises and red bite marks on your body
Comprehensive Checklist for Bed Bug Treatment and Preparation Follow these steps for effective bed bug treatment and preparation:
- Strip all bed linens and launder them in hot water (also include pillowcases, blankets, and mattress pads).
- Take everything out of your bedroom closets and store them in sealed plastic bags.
- Remove all items from dresser drawers, nightstands, and dressing tables, and store them in sealed plastic bags.
- Have all fabrics and clothing laundered (using hot water and a hot dryer cycle) or dry cleaned.
- Have drapes laundered, dry cleaned, or replaced.
- In all possibly infested rooms, dispose of cardboard boxes, shoeboxes, paper and plastic bags, old newspapers, stacks of magazines, and similar items.
- Use a vacuum cleaner to clean all infested rooms, including floors, mattresses, bedsprings, couches, chairs, closets and closet shelves, shoes, inside dresser drawers, and bedside drawers. Seal the vacuum bags in a plastic bag and discard them outside. Do not reuse plastic bags.
- Place all loose items that are not disposed of in a sealed bag within the infested room for inspection and treatment.
